Open the gateForty years ago, Vickie Mehta built something rare on seven acres in Carthage — Christian Child Development Center was rooted in the land, shaped by love, and devoted entirely to children. When we met, we weren’t just looking for a building. We were looking for home. The Garden Montessori Farm School is the result of a decade of searching, building, growing and believing. Vickie spent years creating a place where children could learn and be immersed in nature — where the land itself was part of the education. We spent years looking for a place that didn’t ask us to choose between nature and Montessori, between a real childhood and a developmentally appropriate education. This property is where those two stories met.
This is not a new school in a new building. It is something that has been tended for a long time by people who meant it. We are honored to carry it forward — and we are just getting started.
Tours for 27-28 enrollment begin in fall 2026. Follow along as we make it our own!
“There must be provision for the child to have contact with nature; to understand and appreciate the order, the harmony and the beauty in nature.”Maria Montessori
